Sermon Topic – The Lord’s Prayer
They say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. And you could say that there is a spiritual equivalent, a better way to begin than phone screens, social media and news. Over the last few months we’ve been praying the Lord’s prayer every day, and it is wonderful. It is more than just a prayer, its is a summary of the Christian life in a few short lines. It wakes us up to God and others, shaking us out of our self-centredness. Like a compass it points us in the right direction, as we say ‘Thy will be done, not mine’. It is a foundation to build our lives up that shapes our hearts and minds We don’t just pray it, we live it. This prayer is a gift from Jesus himself. Treasure it, and keep it close to your heart always.
