Sermon Topic –  The Lord’s Prayer

One of the most revolutionary things about Jesus is that he calls God ‘Father’ and he invites us to do the same. He has this rich relationship with the Father which is life giving and sustains him even through the toughest time, and he invites us into the same relationship with God as he has. And to call God father gives us dignity and purpose. In this world it is easy to feel very insignificant, but if you know that God is your Father you can stand a little taller, you can face the world with courage and dignity. And when we pray ‘Our Father’ we pray in plural. We pray with our brothers and sisters in Christ as children of God.

The invitation this week is to continue to pray this wonderful prayer each day, and this week to spend some time quietly resting in the knowledge that you can call God your Father, and belong as part of God’s family.
