Sermon Topic – Psalm 32
There is a lovely verse in psalm 32 that says “you surround me with songs of deliverance.” I don’t know what your favourite hymn is, but the great Christian hymns are all songs about forgiveness – Amazing Grace, Praise my soul the king of heaven, When I survey, In Christ Alone – I could go on and on. And they are great because they speak of our each of our stories. To be Christian is not to say we are good, or right, but that we are forgiven. Of course forgiveness isn’t easy and it isn’t free, but the price is paid by Christ. His death is the ransom that sets us free, the price of our sins paid in full, once and for all. We are those who can say with the Psalmist “Blessed is the one whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered.”
